You are probably thinking what does a picture of a Florida Cooter AKA Coastal Plain Cooter have to do with the theme loneliness? Let me explain…. we were driving home from lunch on Saturday when I saw somewhere between 9 – 13 Cooters all lined up enjoying an afternoon in the sun. I’d never seen that many at once and thought “what a photo op for the rule of odds.” I grabbed my camera, decided to walk all the way back to the pond I passed outside my neighborhood (which was at least a mile or two) and was so happy to see them still lined up! As soon as I got as far as the median in the road, one by one, they disappeared before my eyes plunking into the water. Well, the walk sure didn’t hurt me and I was able to photograph a gator but nothing really outstanding came of it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that after I turned my attention away from the gator and started to walk home, one lonely Cooter was back out :).
I took this picture today while taking a walk after lunch at Marina Jacks. I immediately thought of the Golden Ratio spiral. I tried to put the Golden Ratio overlay on the picture in Lightroom but could not get the overlays to cycle through for me. I ended up drawing the spiral and holding it over the picture.
I took this picture a few weekends ago when the weather was a bit foggy. I like the way the green of the first tree pops out while the trees in the background look very shadowy due to the fog. I amped up the color a bit but did nothing with the lighting.
I zoomed in on this Brown Pelican while visiting Tide Tables Restaurant and Marina for lunch yesterday.
Yesterday, my husband and I went to Tide Tables Restaurant and Marina for lunch in Cortez. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it. I’ve only been there twice and both times had the Grouper sandwich. I do think their Grouper sandwich is the best I have ever had which echoes many other reviews. We figured it would be pretty busy and it was, the last time we went, we shared a table with strangers and this time around, we sat at the bar. I decided to step away from all the action and take some pictures of the beautiful scenery and birds that were all around the marina. This shot is one of my favorites from the afternoon.
